Ephesians 1:11 ~ In Christ, we have also obtained an inheritance, having been destined according to the purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to His counsel and will.
As children of God, who have accepted Christ as Savior, we are destined to share in Jesus’ inheritance and our eternal purpose is to have everlasting life. However, I also believe we are designed and destined for a purpose here on earth. We each have been fearfully and wonderfully made by God for a purpose. Many of us spend our life’s journey trying to figure out what is supposed to be our destination. Our ultimate destination should be to have eternal life with God; while on earth our destination should be aligned with our God-given purpose.
Take the time to ask yourself:
1. What am I passionate about?
2. What are my gifts and talents?
God has placed you in your specific situation – i.e. single, married, parent, business person, teacher, etc. for a purpose. No one else has your unique combination of experiences and attributes.
For me, I have discovered through my own experiences of highs and lows, and through my brokenness that I have a heart to encourage others. I remember crying out to God during some heartbreaking seasons of my life trying to understand why I was going through. Some were due to my own disobedience, but others were designed to build my trust in God. All of it has been to prepare me for my God-given purpose. Don’t overlook where God has placed you and where He has brought you from. It all is a part of His purpose for you. He designed you in such away, so that you can specifically be able to reach others for Him by using the gifts, talents, skills, and wisdom that He has given you. Find your purpose – Find your Destination.
Prayer: Lord, help me to live my life on purpose. I pray for Your continued guidance and wisdom so that Your purpose and plan for my life will continuously be revealed. I surrender to Your purpose; align and conform my will to Your will. Give me wisdom and courage to walk in my God-given purpose, not that I may be looked upon highly, but that You may be glorified and others may be blessed. In Jesus name. Amen.
