1 Samuel 17:37 ~ “The LORD who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented. “All right, go ahead,” he said. “And may the LORD be with you!”
In this verse, David recalls the past miracles and blessings that God had given in his life previously. As he remembers how God was with him in those past situations, it strengthens him to charge ahead against the giant, Goliath. And we know that God did go with David and helped him defeat Goliath.
God is here ready to help us defeat the giants in our life, too. Don’t think that you have run out of blessings, thinking that because God did something miraculous for you last week, that He doesn’t want to bless you this week. Instead, recall those blessings and remember how God strengthened you to get through those past struggles. Recall how your faith and trust in God was strengthened. Know that God did not deliver you out of one struggle just to let you fall under another. He desires to go with us through all of our life’s valleys and mountains.
Draw close to God, stay in prayer, sit and listen quietly to the direction He is giving you. Then, just like David, charge ahead in faith, and watch God help you slay your giant.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for always being with us and blessing us beyond anything we can think or imagine. We stand in faith trusting that just like You saw us through past struggles and circumstances, You will see us through the ones we are experiencing today. Amen.
Purpose in Action: Take the time to remember how God helped you through a past situation. How did that strengthen your faith? Trust God to do it again.
For His Purpose,
