Psalms 37:3 ~ Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
Many of us will say that we trust the Lord. But true trust is reflected in our actions. If we are trusting God to bring us out of financial debt, our actions cannot be one of frivolous over spending. If we are trusting God to bring us a godly mate, we cannot be sleeping around and mistreating people. If we are trusting God to restore our health, we cannot continue to do things to abuse our bodies, such as over indulging in unhealthy foods, alcohol, and drugs.
Truly trusting God means that we will strive to do good and live according to His word. Yes, we are all humans and there will be days that we fall short but those should be the exception and not the norm. God knows our hearts and our motives, so we can’t give Him lip service. If you are waiting on God to do something in your life, check yourself. Are you living a life that is pleasing to God or are you saying one thing and doing another? If we want to experience God’s best in our lives, we must do our part and trust Him not just in our words, but also in our thoughts, actions, and deeds.
Prayer: Lord, may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight. I pray that my actions reflect my trust in You. And that even though, I may not be able to see or understand what You are doing in this season of my life, I trust that You are working it out for my good. And in preparation for the blessing to come, I pray my faith is reflected not just in words but in my actions as well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
