Luke 2:52 ~ And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
If Jesus, who came as God in human form, took time while on earth to be prepared for His purpose; why do we think we can just walk in our purpose without preparation? At the age of twelve, Jesus was found at the temple listening and learning from the teachers. He returned home with His parents and “continued in subjection to them.” (Luke 2:51) Jesus Christ humbled and subjected Himself to His parents and to those that were in leadership and authority. Through this process, He then increased in wisdom, stature and in favor with God and man. We must realize that there is a process and an order to things. We often want things overnight, but if you are not prepared for the things you ask for, it will soon vanish. We have heard the saying “Failing to Prepare is Preparing to Fail.” When you are properly prepared for a situation, you get more enjoyment from it. If you are not prepared, it may overwhelm you and bring feelings of anxiety. There is no enjoyment in that. Don’t try to skip the preparation stage!
If Jesus Christ took time to prepare for His ministry, how much more do you think we need to allow God to prepare us for the purpose He has for our life? Don’t rush through, be patient, and pray for God to increase you in wisdom, stature and in favor with Him and man. For when we surrender to God’s timing and submit to His steps of preparation, He has promised to bless us beyond anything we can think or imagine.
Prayer: Lord, we humble ourselves before You and submit to Your will and guidance. Prepare us Lord. Give us increase in wisdom and stature and in favor with You and man so that we may be used by You to live our lives on purpose and to be a blessing to others. Amen.
Purpose in Action: What is God preparing you for? Take time to pray and think about the lessons God is teaching you through what ever you are experiencing right now.
For His Purpose,
