Matthew 28:6 ~ He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
As Christians, we acknowledge that Jesus Christ has risen. But there may be some that ask or are unclear as to what that means for our everyday life. Christ’s death on the cross was payment for our sins. His rising from the grave is our promise for eternal life for those that believe. His rising also conveys that He cannot lie and that everything He says He will do, will be done. God promised to carry our burdens; He promised to provide and care for us; He promised to give us strength and joy. He promised to never leave or forsake us. Christ’s resurrection shows God’s extreme love for us, His children. He gave His only Son, so that we could have an abundant life here on earth and eternal life in heaven.
So whatever burdens are wearing you down today, take them to God. He has provided a burden carrier for you. Whatever worries you have, lay them down. God has already promised to provide all that you need. Whatever guilt or past mistakes you are holding on to, let them go. God has already provided the Lamb as your sacrifice. Trust in the power of the resurrected Christ.
Some of you may be thinking all that is easy to say but not so easy to do. I agree. I struggle daily with laying some of these things down. How do I work through those struggles? For me it’s through my personal relationship with God. I continuously have to humble myself and recognize when I am trying to control something or do something in my own strength versus trusting God.
Prayer: Lord, we thank you for the rising of Christ. We are thankful that You gave Your Son for our lives. We pray for forgiveness in those times that we don’t quite trust You to take care of the things that trouble us.
Purpose in Action: What does the risen Savior mean to you? Is there anything that you are holding on to that needs to be laid at the feet of Christ?
For His Purpose,
