We all have times in our lives when we are unsure about the path we should take. Or we have a plan all mapped out but life happens and changes those plans and sends us in a totally new direction. When that happens, we must not get frustrated but instead remember God says He will instruct and teach us the way we should go. This sometime may mean the path or plans we have made will have to be changed to align us with the will of God. This doesn’t necessarily mean that your plan is a bad plan; just means it is not the best plan. Jeremiah 29:11 states – For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Do you feel like you don’t know if you path is in line with God’s path for you life? Well, it is our responsibility to remove the noise in our lives, so that we can clearly hear God’s plan for us. Many of us are afraid of the quiet. We are constantly busying ourselves. And I believe often we do this to avoid spending time with God because we are afraid of what will be revealed to us. I know because I have played the avoidance game many times before. However, we must remember that God loves us and that He is not trying to take us in a new direction to bring us harm, but to ultimately give us His best.
Once you get quiet and be still, you can then hear the Holy Spirit guiding, nudging you in a certain direction. The entire plan or path may not be clear at first; it normally isn’t. However, we must have faith to take that first step, so that God can then reveal the next step. With each step, God guides us in to the plan and purpose that He has for our lives.
Prayer: Lord, we thank you for loving us so much that you have a unique and individual plan for each of us. It’s our prayer that our mind and spirit will get quiet enough so that our hearts will know Your will. Amen.
Purpose in Action: Find time to get quiet today, so that you can hear God’s voice. Which way is He telling you to go?
For His Purpose,
