Luke 2:14 ~ Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Merry Christmas! With so much turmoil and evil in the world it may seem difficult to be merry. But I encourage you today to look to the hills which cometh our help through Jesus Christ. He brings peace, joy and love. We hear many people say “Don’t forget the reason for the season”; but Christ is the same in and out of season. Therefore, we must go beyond a few weeks in December, but make Christ our focus every day. What does that look like? Jesus is love and He expressed His love for us by giving His life. We can never repay that, but when we accept Christ as our Saviour, a seed of love should begin to grow within us and exude from us. Through Christ, we can love our family, friends and even our enemies, unconditionally. Through Christ, we can forgive one another. Through Christ, we can put aside selfishness. Through Christ, we can show kindness and patience to friends and strangers alike. Through Christ, we can have peace on earth and good will toward men.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the birth of your son, Jesus Christ. We are thankful for His birth, death and resurrection. We pray that no matter the season, that we can be a vessel for you; to show love and kindness towards one another. Help us not to get caught up in our own selves and the busyness of our own lives that we take one another for granted. Lord, help us to remember that LOVE is an action word and that we must be deliberate about showing love for one another through our actions and not just our words. Amen.
Purpose in Action: What are your priorities during this holiday season? Do your actions reflect the peace, joy and love that Christ came to earth to give us? How are you showing good will toward others?
For His Purpose,
